11 October 2001 Republican Club of Davie/Cooper City Broward's impromptu pro-America rally in downtown Ft. Lauderdale on the 1st month memorial of the 911 terrorists' Attack on America was enthusiastically supported by downtown commuters. The pro-American rally was organized quickly in response to a small group (6 to 12 people) that demonstrated as anti-American protestors. The pro-American patriotic rally group (60 to 80 people) was organized by Republican Club of Davie/Cooper City members Steve Kane (conservative 1470AM talk show radio host)and Margaret Hostetter (Club secretary) who gave out flags, and also Joe Kaufman of Citizens Against Hate (who isn't a member of our Club, but is certainly Republican enough to count as two people if he were.) Downtown commuters honked and cheered the pro-America demonstrators. God Bless America!
