There are now no Windows programs used to maintain the web site. The Republican Club of Davie/Cooper City is completely managed with Open Source products. 10 Nov Updated pictures of Board Members. Well, at least in most places. Our tiny corner of the Peoples' Republic of Broward is still inconvenienced by the same incompetent and ineffective tax-more, spend-more, big-government socialists. However, this past election demostrates their days are numbered. So, now that we all finally have time for things (at least until the local elections early next year) we should be able to catch up on the various details of web site management. The correct names should now appear on all web pages for all the Officers and Directors of the Club. (This also involved a neat upgrade to the management of the site that lets me put the names in just one place where they are then copied to the appropriate places on all other web pages.) 8 Oct Updated the checking acccount activity with all the expenses to date. The Precinct demographics haven't changed since September -- perhaps the Supervisor of elections office is a little busy? 2 Oct There have been a few routine updates that have not been written up here. There will be several updates in the next week as I catch up with things. Coralia Jennings has volunteered to be the Social Director, so all pages referring to the Social Director have been updated. Most of the maintenance tools for updating the web site are running on GNU/Linux. The program to do the checking account activity page and the program to do the precinct pages are working well. The only thing left to port to Linux is the program that downloads precinct information from the Supervisor of Elections web site (this is more complex!) 27 Sept Miscellaneous corrections. This is done with a couple programs (that I wrote) which substitute the text I want for HTML tags that I invent. Everything is then scripted in a batch file.
